Rotary is continually seeking to train and promote leaders and one of the best ways is to take on a position at the District level and on the Board of Directors for the District.  This is an exciting position to learn more and do more at the District level.

District 5050 Secretary Responsibilities 2019
  • Act as a resource to the Club secretaries providing information, support and training when required
  • Ensure necessary reporting to Rotary International is submitted
  • Using the template on ClubRunner, compile the attendance and membership for the month and distribute to the District Leadership Team
  • During the third week of each month, remind those Clubs that have not completed their attendance reports to do so
  • Contact Clubs to update Club and officer information for the official RI Directory and Rotary‚Äôs records as required
  • Update District records and member list on My Rotary and ClubRunner
  • Ensure Club and District leaders have proper RI access
  • Maintain District online directory and updating data as changes occur
  • Maintain minutes of Board and District committee meetings
  • Maintain files of District policies and governance documents
  • Take minutes at District meetings and assemblies as required
  • Manage District correspondence, responding to emails and sending out official notices and invitations
  • Post District and Club events on the District website when requested
  • Attend the District Training Assembly and conduct the Secretaries Training Session
  • Write an annual report at the end of the Rotary year
  • Must have held the position of Club Secretary
  • Must be able to attend District Board meetings
  • Must be able to attend and support District events such as Club Assembly
  • Preference to have had attended RLI
